5 Thought Friday
Wow, Are Fridays coming faster and faster? its already May next week!
Btw, I am on three weeks without watching the news and its been quite a positive mental shift away from all the negative information. Here are a few thoughts:
1. What I am currently reading/viewing:
“Fast Carbs, Slow Carbs” David A. Kessler
We all know there are good carbohydrates to eat and bad ones. This book is a reminder to us on the science behind why fast burning carbs hijack our health.
The book focuses on 3 simple recommendations noted in #5 below
2. What is Trending in Finance/Business/Technology/Science:
I always find something interesting on wellness and tech in the Huffington Post (but don’t read the politics…just too too biased)

3. Wellness ideas to Consider:
Coffee: sign me up for all the benefits with 3 or 4 cups a day!!! Antioxidants, metabolism up, etc.
Just don’t forget, you cant add anything to the coffee…no sugar, no cream, no milk….sorry!

4. What I ‘m eating, drinking, buying or whatever else is on my mind:
Today’s Wildcard:
8Greens – effervescent tablets containing essential plant based nutrients. Irene recommended these through a friend and should be on their way to Macau by mid-May. Will let you know how they stack up on nutrients and flavor in a few weeks
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
The science behind the book in #1 above is about 3 recommendations
“Here are the three recommendations:
i. Reduce consumption of fast carbs to gain control over weight and reduce the risk of metabolic disease.
ii. Reduce your blood lipids (especially LDL) by moving to a largely plant-based diet or by taking medications to markedly diminish the risk of cardiovascular disease.
iii. Engage in daily moderate-intensity exercise to control weight, increase metabolic flexibility, and reduce the risk of metabolic and cardiovascular disease.” David A. Kessler - Fast Carbs, Slow Carbs.
Happy Friday and see you in a few weeks after the upcoming holidays….and I may even take a few days off to re-charge my mind!
