5 Thought Friday
Welcome to the first 5 Thought Friday on my new website. I know you may be saying to yourself “WHY?!” or “wow, he really needs to find a new hobby”! However, there is a simple explanation and that is I enjoy learning new skills, reading, writing and contributing back to the community. So here goes:
1. What I am currently reading/viewing:
“Choose Yourself” James Altucher
Take all the drama out of your life by realizing everyone thinks differently and is in it for themselves. Therefore, focusing on what you can control yourself is how to be happy and “Live the Dream” as the title suggests.
2. What is Trending in Finance/Business/Technology/Science:
My head must be in the sand, because I missed the launch of the Long March 5B rocket by China as it moves closer to testing its space station. Check it out HERE.
Please note that this article also “launched” lots of advertisements.
3. Wellness ideas to Consider:
Having a sense of purpose and helping others, can make one feel better about themselves. Check it out HERE….and try it out yourself! It works for me and I know my middle daughter is currently enjoying her volunteer work at a California food bank.
My favorite point of the article: “Studies show that having a strong sense of purpose protects us from stress in the short term and predicts long-term better health, a lower risk of dying prematurely and even better financial health.”
4. What I ‘m eating, drinking, buying or whatever else is on my mind:
Today’s Wildcard:
Irene knows I love Greek Yogurt with my go-to brand being Fage (pronounced "Fa Yeh"). With the current situation, we could not find it anywhere for weeks. However, with constant positive energy in the universe, she found 1 single 100g container at Supreme….and it was spectacularly delicious.
Click HERE for the benefits of Greek Yogurt but I can summarize in 2 words; Protein / Probiotics. This is the LINK to Fage’s homepage if you want to hunt it down by look and color.
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
“We spend our lives afraid of the emptiness. We want to fill it with love, with money, with pleasures, with anything that could put off the ultimate. But all of those things are never enough. They all decay. Only the emptiness does not decay. The best way I have ever found to fill that hole is not to seek external motivations to fill the emptiness, but to ignite the internal fire that will never go out. To light up my own inner sky. “
Altucher, James. Choose Yourself! (p. 46). Lioncrest Publishing. Kindle Edition.
Happy Friday and I would be glad to take any ideas, suggestions, feedback, grammar / spelling checks, etc. on the website. This took me < 15 hours, so I feel fairly good about Version1.0 but it will be a never ending work-in-progress. As most of you know my philosophy i.e. any positive, constructive feedback is welcome if it will allow me to be a little better tomorrow than I am today!
