5 Thought Friday
Here are 5 Thoughts for the week:
1. What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:
Two podcasts by Andrew Huberman on memory
The art of memory using exercise, a brief meditation, adrenaline, mental pictures, repetition, etc. Some great tools to boost your memory!
2. Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):
Grateful for a beautiful and relaxing “staycation” weekend poolside with Irene. We both put our mobile phones aside for the day to digitally detox, rest, and recharge the mind, which is quite important to our overall balance.
3. Wellness ideas to consider:
Fasting: Several “Sleep Minders” have been asking about how to start fasting. This guide from Dr. Mindy Pelz, is awesome. Check it out HERE!
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:
Octopus: Healthy source of lean protein that is low in calories, fat, and carbohydrates but high in amino acids (and thus protein), trace minerals, and micronutrients like vitamins. Grilled (Portuguese or Spanish style) is the way to go!
Now, this is where eating octopus gets difficult. I watched “My Octopus Teacher” 2x now, and it is so impactful emotionally. Here is the trailer and if you have not seen it, watch it. However, I recommend not watching within 1 month of a seafood BBQ (smile).
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
“There is NO such thing as a failed fast. Every fasting experience makes you stronger and more adapted.” – Dr. Mindy Pelz
I love this thought and aligns with my coaching school’s unconventional wisdom that states “all experiences are opportunities for growth” … Totally true when you frame your thoughts properly.
Happy Friday!
