5 Thought Friday
Decided to further up my skills to improve my blog and life coaching (see #1 below). With that, here are this week’s 5 thoughts:
1. What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:
Precision Nutrition Certification Course (Written and Video)
I am 30% through my nutrition certification program with Precision Nutrition. When completed, this program will allow me to provide helpful nutrition science for the Sleep Minder community. More importantly, I will look to provide tips/tricks for us to make small, consistent behavioral changes to improve overall wellness.
2. Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):
Had my second round of pre-emptive cancer strike surgery this past week by having 8 skin lesions removed. Still waiting on the pathology results, but assuming a great outcome in my continued quest of prevention over cure!
Grateful to Dr. Preixoto for another round of steady hands and beautiful crochet work on my stitches (big smile)!
3. Wellness ideas to consider:
Fats: Many of us were taught to fear fat!. But guess what, that is a fallacy and good, healthy fats are part of a well-balanced, nutritious diet. Check out Precision Nutrition’s recommendations for some healthy fats below:
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:
Green Shakshuka: Kale, spinach, and Brussel sprouts make up the greens along with eggs and tons of spices!
Delicious and healthy: HERE is a link to the recipe at TheMeditteraneanDish
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
“Progress is not achieved by luck or accident, but by working on yourself daily.” and “How long are you going to wait before you demand the best for yourself?” Epictetus
A few simple stoic thoughts to ponder about being your best self!
Happy Friday!
Mike
