5 Thought Friday
Reading an incredibly transformational book this week, which includes related online materials from Mindvalley. This is the future of literary work, which combines writing and interactive content.
1. What I am currently reading, viewing or listening to:
“The Buddha and the Badass” Vishen Lakhiani
Vishen Lakhiani is the founder of Mindvalley. This book is a follow up to my favorite self-improvement book, The Code of The Extraordinary Mind. Click on the link as to why I recommend to read this book based on Mindvalley’s vision
In short, the Buddha and the Badass focuses on creating a future vision for yourself and accelerating your life towards that vision.
2. Gratitude:
I decided to add a section on Gratitude because of everything that is going on around the planet. Here goes:
I am grateful that my mother (89), who is sheltering in place at home, can video chat via Viber. We talk 5x per week and last night she gave me the recipe for her three famous Italian meals. I took copious notes on her Italian meatball recipe, so I can pass it down to my amazing daughters.
3. Wellness ideas to Consider:
Mindvalley’s free masterclasses for a better you.
Scroll down and find the one that Vishen Lakhiani is running now called the Three Keys to Transformation. You will either love it or hate it, which is what it should be i.e. its not your middle of the road average!
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying or whatever else is on my mind:
There is simply not enough sun in Macau most days, so I opted for a 5,000 IU Vitamin D3 supplement. I previously used Healthy Origins 10,000 IU supplements, until I researched and found that anything > 5,000 IU could potentially be harmful.
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
“When I run after what I think I want, my days are a furnace of distress and anxiety; If I sit in my own place of patience, what I need flows to me, and without any pain. From this I understand that what I want also wants me, is looking for me and attracting me. There is a great secret in this for anyone who can grasp it.” Rumi (quoted from Buddha and the Badass)
I had to read this over and over to grasp the deep meaning, but it is sure worth a second and third read. Go for your goals and dreams and not what you “think” you want, but what you actually want.
BTW, I copied and pasted the above quote into Google to get another opinion on its meaning. However, it actually pointed me to tips on fixing a home furnace….hahaha!
Happy Friday!
