5 Thought Friday
I went on a “surprise gift” rampage this week focusing on my personal mission statement: Life is about experiences and deep family relationships! Flowers, plants, and even a bespoke photo album (see #4 below).
1. What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:
Energy Leadership: Transforming Your Workplace and Your Life from the Core; Bruce Schneider, founder of my new Life Coach training
The philosophy: One’s energetic makeup is a defining factor in determining one’s level of career/work satisfaction. The study is based upon 14 key areas of life including leadership ability, productivity, work/life balance, and communication skills.
2. Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):
Grateful to be able to still have the energy to do small deeds for the family, which literally gives me more excitement and satisfaction than those receiving the gifts!
3. Wellness ideas to consider:
Exercise: “The more you do, the better”. I love the New York Times, but I am not in agreement with this article. I will let you be the judge, but too much exercise can lead to injuries, fatigue, and even a strained heart (e.g. marathon runners).
< 10 hours per month of targeted High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) combined with light weights and balance/stability training is my “go-to” methodology! and yes, REST!
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:
Travel experience photo album for my mother from Shutterfly. I prepared the album online, which will be printed and shipped for the big surprise!
It was a lot of fun looking through old photos from our travels and creating a bespoke album. Check her out in Beijing in 2015 at 85!
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
“The simple gift of giving becomes an elaborate rich aftertaste of a natural blissful feeling, lingering endlessly….” Wes Adamson, author/educator.
Happy Friday!
