5 Thought Friday
Happy (Chinese) New Year everyone. Here are 5 thoughts including a summary of my new adventure in #4; Life Coaching!
1. What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:
While I am targeting to expand my healthspan and live to 110, younger individuals may target 120 and beyond. This podcast is about how to slow aging and live healthier longer.
The key lever being extending your cell telomeres through lower stress, focused exercise, sauna, cold exposure, and a few meds (which I am not currently taking). Tip: Skip the first 5 minutes on Covid-19 and watch at 1.5x.
2. Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):
Grateful for an amazing group of friends to share in a Beijing Duck Chinese New Year’s dinner.
3. Wellness ideas to consider:
Can tech help us live longer? Check out this article on blood sugar levels
I am in the camp of believers that regulating blood sugar levels and avoiding big insulin spikes improves longevity and reduces inflammation. This is why understanding how various foods impact your personal sugar levels could eventually improve your wellness if you utilize the data!
Do I believe the current wearable technology is accurate enough to assist in this process? Not sure I am 100% convinced, so still sticking to the blood monitor for now.
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:
Invested in a Life Coaching certification program starting this week!
Looking to understand “me” a little better and then learn how to approach and mentor others. The emphasis is on executive leadership and overall wellness. More learnings to follow!
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
“We’ve created all the excuses for ourselves of why we can’t do the things we need to do.” If we drill into these, we can change our behavior and find the time to focus on the more important aspects of our wellness and longevity. “Living Beyond 120 Podcast”
Happy Friday!
