5 Thought Friday
The benefits of fasting and self-love….although superficially, these seem to be at polar opposites.
1. What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:
Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It, Kamal Ravikant
Deeply depressed after a failed start-up, Ravikant picks himself up though a process of self-love and belief in himself.
Part 1, the Vow, was the original edition and is < 100 pages. It can be read in a few hours and is well worth it.
Part 2, The Manual, is new content and is a “how-to” plan to execute Ravikant’s “self-love” program.
Check out his Life is For You video. I watched at 1.75x in < 15 minutes
2. Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):
As Ravikant’s book recommends, I wrote 3 gratitude’s about myself. Here is one: Grateful I have been able to turn my life around and elevate my wellness to a higher level…..and then share it with others.
3. Wellness ideas to consider:
Dr. Peter Attia. A short video on a framework for nutrition and fasting. Why you should fast!
Fasting benefits from Dr. Mindy Pelz - see info-graphic below
Remember, this is not medical advice, so please seek the assistance/advice from a physician.
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:
Dr. Peter Attia on living longer….great podcast
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
Dr. Peter Attia quotes from the podcast in #4 above
“If you want to live to a 100 it basically means you have to delay the onset by about two decades of every major chronic disease.”
“I think we’re in a different world now, I think the days are long gone of you do one thing for your whole life.”
“If you’re not growing, if you’re not constantly being reminded of how much higher you have to climb, I suspect life becomes a lot less fun.”
Happy Friday!
Mike
