5 Thought Friday
Here are 5 Thoughts for the week:
1. What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:
Check out how you may want to diversify your training, with the emphasis on getting your heart rate into Zone 5
If you like this one, then check out Dr. Attia’s “Centenarian Olympics” protocol, which I pattern my workouts after to improve my stability, strength, and aerobic/anaerobic fitness levels.
2. Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):
Grateful for all our daughters to find time for a group call to their mom for her birthday. It was her favorite gift overall vs. the dinners, parties, and other sundries! Human connection brings us the most joy, so we can ask ourselves why we sometimes focus on money or material things?!
3. Wellness ideas to consider:
How HIIT can reshape your metabolism: I still espouse that HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) is an integral part of a balanced wellness routine.
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:
Cha Bei’s Hummus with Impossible Meat. See the photo HERE.
Chickpeas are awesome for your health. I am still not sure about the vegan meat products, so waiting for more data on the health benefits (or downsides) of those. I can say the dish was delicious and would order again!
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
Dr. Attia asks himself this question on developing his fitness levels “If I want to live to 100, what do I have to physically be able to do to be satisfied with my life?”
My answers were similar to his: lift 20 pounds from the ground (i.e. a great-grandchild), get off the ground to a standing position by myself, go to the restroom myself, etc. Now start working your way back in terms of what you want to do at 80 then….oooops….60, only a few years away. Now you know what you want to train on daily!
Happy Friday!
