5 Thought Friday
Here are 5 Thoughts for the week:
1. What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:
Wanted to share one of the 48 Laws of Power from Robert Greene, which resonated with me as I read this week:
“ALWAYS SAY LESS THAN NECESSARY” When you are trying to impress people with words, the more you say, the more common you appear, and the less in control. Powerful people impress and intimidate by saying less. The more you say, the more likely you are to say something foolish.
In my younger days, I always wanted to try to find something smart or witty to say in conversations. In hindsight, it seems “foolish”, as Robert Greene clearly articulated.
2. Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):
Grateful for the incredible upbringing I had from my mother and father. While they have both passed, I can feel their learnings deeply inside me. There were a few personal reasons that created this reflection, which always kept a smile on my face.
3. Wellness ideas to consider:
Caught this from Jay Shetty on simply having fun:
“When was the last time you had cry-laughing, belly holding, gasping for air, smiling ear-to-ear FUN? The kind of fun that makes you feel like a kid again. The kind of fun that reminds you why we’re all here in the first place. Fun is a form of love. And it’s part of your true purpose.
Fun allows us to live with a light heart…..so go have some fun!
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:
Wellness check-up via Zoom
I had my first ever doctor “visit” this week via Zoom, with very mixed emotions about the experience. I had to share my screen while reviewing my annual physical results. Hmmm?!?
I will need to warm up to this futuristic method
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
“I feel there is something nice about not talking. Like you can say more by actually saying less.” Ryan Gosling, Actor
How fitting when you reflect on Thought #1 above
Happy Friday!
