5 Thought Friday
5 Thoughts for the week:
1. What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:
Coach the Person, Not the Problem; Marcia Reynolds
This book is a fascinating look at how to have a powerful conversation. Whether it’s family, friends, or workmates, it is a great reminder for me to show up present and to actively listen!
Conversations become magical when the other individual knows you are actually listening to what they have to say.
2. Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):
Grateful to have my lab results back from my recent pre-emptive cancer surgery, with no malignant cancer cells.
Two major positives came from this surgery:
More than 5 individuals asked for the contact for my dermatologist, which may save a life……and that this the main purpose of this blog…happier, longer healthspan!!!
I learned that the growth on my face was starting to turn cancerous, so I know to continuously keep a check on my skin!
3. Wellness ideas to consider:
The 10-20-30 HIIT workout (Spoiler - it’s actually done in 30, 20 then 10-second intervals). Plus a few other ideas in the article for you to try.
I am a total time-saver, so HIIT is my go-to workout…..and it’s scientifically proven effective!!!
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:
Bought a Virtual Trip to Italy; Sorrento, Capri, and the Amalfi Coast
Knowing I would be unable to travel in 2021, I decided to dedicate the year to “virtual” Italian experiences (food, drink, art, travel, people). So why not a live guided tour via Zoom in the Amalfi Coast?!
12 Euros is a total bargain!
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
“Those who want the fewest things are nearest to the gods.” Socrates
Amazing how clear my mind becomes as I continue to eliminate or consolidate my “things” and focus more on close relationships, experiences, and life purpose.
Happy Friday!
