5 Thought Friday
Back with my 5 thoughts after last week’s practice article. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on THIS newly designed article.
1. What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:
Get Out of Your Own Way; Mark Goulston and Philip Goldberg
The premise sounded good: Practical self-help steps to transform 40 common self-defeating behaviors, including procrastination, envy, obsession, anger, self-pity, compulsion, neediness, guilt, rebellion, etc.
2. Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):
Coaching 3 peers from my certification class for practice and grateful for their time to help me improve my skills.
3. Wellness ideas to consider:
Bands: Finally breaking out my newly purchased resistance bands with some helpful videos from a co-worker (thanks Scott). Check out how to build muscle without needing to hit the gym!
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:
Vallado Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This was a beautiful gift from someone who knows how impactful good fats are to one’s overall wellness! Interestingly, it’s Portuguese!
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
“It’s not easy to admit that you get in your own way, and harder still to take responsibility for getting out of your way. You have realized that blaming your problems on other people, or on circumstances beyond your control, doesn’t make anything better. You understand that you alone have the power to change your life. That sense of responsibility is crucial if you’re going to beat self-defeat.” Get Out of Your Own Way: Overcoming Self-Defeating Behavior
Happy Friday!
