5 Thought Friday

5 Thoughts for the week:

1.       What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:

  • Tim Ferriss: The Vagabonds Way with Rolf Potts

  • Wonderful reflection of what “off the beaten” travel was like and being in the present moment, connecting with others, and being curious.

  • I watched at 1.5x.

2.       Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):

  • Grateful for all the positive energy my coaching clients have been bringing to our forward-moving sessions. It makes coaching so full of purpose and fun!

3.       Wellness ideas to consider:

  • Air Squat - Isometric hold at 90 degrees

  • I tried this for the first time after listening to Dr. Peter Attia on a recent podcast. I held it for 2 minutes and thought my legs were literally on fire!

  • A few tips from the above article: Make it as demanding as you can! This means creating as much tension as possible. Try to "screw your feet into the floor" by attempting to externally rotate them, or "press the floor with the toes" and "tense the abs as if you were going to get punched in the stomach.""

4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:

  • I have not cooked in 20 years but I have cooked 2x over the past two weeks. Cooked Mediterranean, which is my go-to food choice for taste and wellness:

5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:

  • The only man I know who behaves sensibly is my tailor; he takes my measurements anew each time he sees me. The rest go on with their old measurements and expect me to fit them.” George Bernard Shaw, Author

  • We all see the world through our own lenses. Some of us continue to learn and grow, while others stay stagnant with outdated belief systems. This quote truly resonated with me!

Happy Friday!

Mike
