5 Thought Friday
Education and physical activity = brain health. I’m in…..
1. What I am currently reading, viewing or listening to:
“Spark” ; John Ratey, MD
Just started reading it, so do not have much to say other than the premise of supercharging your brain through appropriate wellness (physical activity) sounded appealing.
And for those who know me, I always give most things a try that Tim Ferriss or his guests recommend. So #3 below, relates to the book I selected for reading and sharing in this week’s 5 Thoughts.
2. Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):
Wow. I really had a great experience this past weekend with my brother teaching Irene and I how to make our family’s spaghetti sauce recipe. Really grateful for all the time he spent preparing for the video instructional lesson. Really well done even for his first attempt at an ad hoc cooking show!!!
3. Wellness ideas to consider:
Tim Ferriss did an exceptional podcast this past week with Kevin Rose. Check it out HERE!
It had topics from meditation to investing to the best beers! I watched at 1.75x speed and enjoyed minutes 43:00 to 1:00:00 on meditation and 1:20:00 to the end on investing. I like how Tim Ferriss summarizes investing by saying it’s about improving your quality of your life. So you should not invest if it means sleepless nights, constantly biting your nails and cortisol coming out of your eyes. Honestly, I have been in that situation with investing more than once and it’s not healthy or fun!
4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying or whatever else is on my mind:
Developed to support gut microbiome health and aid in fasting. Is it true and factual? Honestly, I cannot really say but I am experimenting with a months supply, so let’s see how it goes.
5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:
“In order for man to succeed in life, God provided him with two means, education and physical activity. Not separately, one for the soul and the other for the body, but for the two together. With these two means, man can attain perfection.”—Plato from Intro to the book, Spark
This ancient quote truly sums up many of the values, which embody SleepMindHeart.com
Happy Friday!
