5 Thought Friday

Here are 5 thoughts for the week:

1.       What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:

  • Brian Armstrong, the founder of the cryptocurrency company Coinbase, is looking to cure aging and is using machine learning via his new company called NewLimit.

  • This is what we are all waiting for (well, at least me for sure)…when tech meets aging reversal. Fingers crossed for all of us and thanks to Carmen for sharing the article!

  • You can read about it HERE!

2.       Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):

  • Grateful for all the assistance and encouragement from my life coaching peers during 2021 to propel me forward with my coaching training and certification. But most importantly, to help me see inside myself with a higher level of self-awareness and for that, I am most grateful!

3.       Wellness ideas to consider:

  • James Clear, the author of Atomic Habits, has some great articles. Here is one about saying “No” to improve your productivity.

  • When I read this, it resonated with me especially around the holidays with work, life coaching, varying parties, our wedding anniversary, birthdays, and all of the other important tasks I want to get done. Therefore, my December was filled with lots of “No” responses.

4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:

  • How about what I am selling (not buying).

  • I decided to sell our home to continue to reduce the “things” in my life and focus on experiences. I am now choosing rental over homeownership to allow myself the flexibility to move and live where the world takes my wife and me. With Airbnb and the ease of property rentals online, why not take on a more nomadic lifestyle?!

  • The sale really provided me with such a huge mental relief and one more tick in the box of major “things” off my list on a quest for simplicity.

5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:

  • “There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.” Peter Drucker

  • I was feeling very overwhelmed this week as noted in #3, so this was a perfect reminder to focus on the things that matter!

Happy Friday!

Mike
