5 Thought Friday

5 Thoughts for the week!

1.       What I am currently reading, viewing, or listening to:

* slightly edited to protect certificate

2.       Gratitude Practice (for improved happiness):

  • I spent several hours Sunday writing in my gratitude journal after the sale of our family home. The home was in our family for 8 decades, so it was quite impactful for me to write about all the amazing family experiences I had living in that home!

3.       Wellness ideas to consider:

  • Why not get yourself a nutrition coach to learn how to:

    • Eat better, without dieting or feeling deprived.

    • Get active, no matter what shape you’re in now.

    • Ditch the food rules, dropping the fad diets, and conflicting advice.

    • Build fitness into your life, without it taking over.

    • Achieve, and maintain, your goals, even when life feels unpredictable by committing and being accountable

    The result you could achieve:

    • Lose the weight/fat you haven’t been able to shed for years.

    • Build physical strength and confidence in your body.

    • Gain mental confidence, no longer hiding your gifts and talents.

    • Let go of food confusion, learn what to do, how to do it.

    • Experience the peace of mind that comes with a clean bill of health.

  • Note: I may be perceived as biased, but I believe it is a great way to go!

4. What I’m eating, drinking, buying, or whatever else is on my mind:

  • Pistachios - pre-shelled. Check out 9 potential benefits HERE, albeit a few seem too good to be true:

    • Eg: Low in calories but high in protein and may lower blood sugar/blood pressure while improving blood vessel health

    • Now, #9 “Delicious and fun to eat” along with #1 “Loaded with nutrients” are 100% true!!!!

5. Quote(s) I am Pondering:

  • “I remember all the hard work my mother put in during holidays cooking for the family; Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Those were always fun events to get the family together. We also spent many of those Christmas celebrations with our kids and their grandparents, which were always full of happiness/joy.”

  • Me from my Gratitude Journal reminiscing about the family home with 3 generations of family members. I always thanked my mother for all the love she put into her holiday specialty cooking. It was consistently delicious.

Happy Friday!

Mike
