Visualized Experiences

Our lives gravitate towards what we visualize and believe we can accomplish!

In 2014, I began to document and visualize the experiences and personal growth opportunities I valued for myself.

Jet boating in New Zealand, touring Italy with my mother, eating at Gaggan (Bangkok), biking in Spain, visiting South Africa, and many others made my visualized list of “experiences”.

Decluttering my life to less than 10 things, speaking mandarin, learning to meditate, speed reading, and building deeper relationships with my family made the “personal growth opportunities” list.

After making my list of just under 100 items and reviewing them often, my life started gravitating towards achieving these personally valuable opportunities. For example, during our stay in Vietnam, my youngest daughter’s best friend was from South Africa. We also became good friends with the family through a mutual interest; scuba diving. Fast forward several years later, and they invited us to stay with them in Cape Town for Christmas 2017. Their beautiful home was on the beach directly overlooking Table Mountain; coincidence or the power of positive visualization many years prior at work?

Was it a coincidence that my meditation practice flourished several years after placing it on my list or that I can now read more than 3x faster with more comprehension now vs. prior to visualizing that growth opportunity? I never even consider this a remote possibility before I learned about the power of positive thinking and visualizing what you value most for yourself.

Keep in mind, I am not saying everything turns out perfectly just because it appears on your visualized list. I had written “play poker professionally” on my list and an opportunity arose to try my luck in 2015. I moved to Las Vegas from Manila and played for 6 weeks before deciding I simply did not have the right demeanor to play the game. The best part is that I tried and even though I failed, I learned that I can now remove from my mind the belief that I was destined to be a professional poker player (and yes, I even laughed writing this paragraph)!

The universe is somehow interconnected and by constantly providing positive energy about our goals into the atmosphere, our lives gravitate towards these visions. I also wrote down in 2015 that I wanted to “start a wellness blog on being your best self”, which eventually came to fruition. After writing a weekly email to my team at work for 3 years called “5 Thought Friday”, I decided to convert it to a website. So was SleepMindHeart.com also a coincidence?

I want to share one final thought: I wrote and visualized that I plan to extend my healthspan and live past the age of 110 (and that is not a typo). Is that realistic if one believes it….I think that is a resounding YES!
